Stations of the Cross will be held on the following Fridays: Mar 8, 15 & 22, English at 7 p.m. and Chinese at 8 p.m.

 

Pope Benedict XVI    Please offer prayer to our Holy Father that God may continue to grant him health and strength to fulfill his work before his retirement.

 

First Friday Mass & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament      Mar 1 (Fri).  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 am to 7:45 pm. Vocations hour at 6 pm, Benediction at 7:45 pm followed by Mass in Cantonese at 8:00 p.m.  Please sign up at the Info Counter. Divine Mercy Devotion  at 7:20 pm.  Prayer intentions will be offered in the Mass.

 

10th Anniversary of the Dedication of Our New Church   A thanksgiving Mass will be held on Mar 2 (Sat) at 9:30 a.m.  All are welcome.

 

St. Joseph’s Society Collection   34 retired, semi-retired or sick priests are receiving benefit which is amounted to $406,000 this year.  Your support this Sunday will be appreciated.

 

Come Home to Confession   Confession isn’t as scary as you might think, and to make it easier every parish will offer Confessions on Feb 20, 21 & 22, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  If you know someone who has been away from the Church or the sacrament of Confession for some time, encourage them to receive this most powerful sacrament where we encounter Jesus Christ and receive his mercy.  Visit www.ComeToConfession.com for help with anxiety, Q&A, and practical tips.

 

Lunar New Year Dinner     will be held on Feb 17  (this Sun) evening at Continental Seafood Restaurant.  Please bring your tickets.  Big thanks to all volunteers and donors of the raffle prizes.

 

Spiritual & Bodily Health    Fr.  Josef Evgster, an expert in foot reflexology from Taiwan, will give a talk here on “ How to take care of our spiritual and bodily health in a simple and easy way” on Feb 22 (Fri), 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 (Mandarin/Cantonese at hall) and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. (English at Room A & B).  Free donation, all are welcome.

 

Free Movie - “ The Rite”   Feb 23 (Sat) at 1:00 p.m. at parish hall.

 

Estate Planning  Feb 26 (Tue) 7:30 p.m., John Nixon, Director of Development of the Archdiocese will present an Estate Planning Workshop that covers will preparation, powers of attorney, advance care planning, funeral and burial instructions and more.  This presentation will deal with matters you may not have thought about before but will help you gather your thoughts before you write your first will or prepare to update your will.  Free admission with free guide book.

Ignatian Retreat at St. Mark’s Parish  One Day retreat - a time for prayer and reflection with an introduction to Gospel contemplation and St. Ignatius’s rules for discernment facilitated by Fr. Diocesan Farewell Mass and Dinner for Bishop-elect Stephen Jensen   We’ll be bidding farewell to Prince George’s new bishop on Mar 17 (Sun) at St. Francis de Sales Church, Burnaby.  Mass is at 3:30 p.m., followed by a reception at 5:30 and dinner at 6:00 in the gym.  Tickets will be available online at http://www.rcav.org/jensen/registration.

 

The Gospel of Mark LIVE: Rev. Joseph Morris  The Newman Club - Catholic Students' Association of UBC will host the event on Feb 22 (Fri), 7 p.m. at St. Mark's Parish, Vancouver.  Admission: Free-will Offering.
